Open Morning & September Update

Our final runner before our open day on Saturday couldn't have gotten spirits any higher as Manolith registered his second win of his two year old campaign at Lingfield Thursday evening. Blitzing from last to first in the 5f Nursery to turn the tables on old rival Dandizette was hugely pleasing given how he set off from the stalls. One would have to think that going forward a gelding operation could really help him climb through the ratings.

Our colt Seas of Elzaam has been entered Tuesday at Catterick over 6f in their Novice Median Auction Race. We cannot wait for this guy’s debut. We’ve given him all the time he needs as he's such a big imposing type so fingers crossed he can do our members proud and be competitive first time out. We think he could be a horse to get further so over 6f we should learn a little bit more about him for the future.

Wise Eagle is taking a bit more time to come to hand. In his preliminary work he has shown some real potential. Given his juvenility Tom has thought it best not to press him too much and wait for him to really develop before turning him loose on a racecourse. We do like to build up into the Horse In Training Sale in October but its really pleasing that we now have an individual to fly our flag through the winter and hopefully we can get some success on the artificial surfaces towards the end of 2019.

Ollivander in has won four times this season, twice for Conor McGovern and twice for Danny Tudhope. He certainly enjoyed Beverley as he won twice round there while also scoring at Catterick and Southwell, giving our local owners some great days out.

We are holding an open morning Saturday 7th September to see our horses at David O’Meara’s. All welcome so if you think you'd like to get involved in the future, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
